After listening to a recent podcast I came across a mind boggling comment made by a MMA guest saying, "blocking defensive skills" are not in style that MMA fighters are interested in using. I had no emotions to hearing this comment because if you just look at these fighters wounds and broken bones on their faces, the results speak for themselves. Which is They have ZERO defensive skills that could save them from a baby. Often fighters forgo blocking and try to fight fire with fire by trading punches with their opponent, thus taking a hit to give one back, resulting in broken facial bones, loss of perception and loss of strategies they had put in place to carry out their game plan.
The question why don't these fighters have these skills? Why don't their coaches teach them these skills? Why don't fighters want to learn how to effective protect themselves from having to have surgeries, stitches, etc?
