In this video we will specifically discuss the "slugger archetype a very common style in combat sports. The slugger is defined as a stalk and kill fighter, i.e. power puncher. Their common response traits to fight or fight is to put all their energy into delivering one massive punch or strike and powerful swarms through leverage and weight transfer. The slugger is a KO specialist who is not afraid to take damage in order to give more back in return. This archetype is extremely aggressive and looks to put their opponent on the defensive ropes ASAP using stalking intimidation. Sluggers are will setup power strikes in combinations when they smell blood. Sluggers are known for keeping their distance while stalking, staying coiled and loaded, to setup the optimal KO strike. Sluggers are quick starters and fast finishers. The definition of an archetype fighter is the traits and patterns they possess in their subconscious mind and nervous system, which will be activated once the fight or flight response has been triggered (the need to survive). Trying to identify an archetype fighter in sparring for fighting can be somewhat tricky at first when you're not looking for it.
